HOW SHOES CAME

It all started is 2005.
It was the summer time of my Bachelor's Degree in Art Direction.
I was riding the bike my mum gifted me for the successful achievement of studies, when something occurred: I noticed a shoe on the edge of the street. It was on my right hand side and it was a male one in black colour.
It was there: lonely. And it struck my attention. I felt something I can barely describe. Let's say it was like someone moving my face in order to see it.

I left.

Couple of days later, same scene: this time it was a pair.
I stopped, with that funny feeling moving inside. I stared there for a while, wondering.
What pushes a human being to get rid of a pair of shoes, leaving them on the street? Or how comes you lose one? How can you walk without shoes?

I left again.

And it happened again.
It happened more and more.

So I started taking pictures of them: later on mobile technology made it very simple.
Some of them I took even home.

Now, after 15 years, I have taken almost 400 picture of shoes. Everyhwere I go I find some.
That's why eventually I started thinking it's the other way round: they are finding me.

For a while, I've been wondering the hidden message behind the huge number of shoes I found but it didn't come yet. It's okay not to have an answer to me: I'm just enjoying each find that still comes today with the same emotion and the same cuddle feeling of fifteen years ago.

Thank you,
MAdd ❤

PS: I have the feeling my artistic project about shoes will last a life long.
